Overview

The Haslemere Penny Ha'Penny Trust is a charitable trust for the community of the Haslemere area to enable voluntary projects to be financed.

Why “Penny Ha’Penny”?

The last water carrier at the Haslemere Town well called Hannah Oakley used to charge a “Penny Ha’Penny” for a bucket of water.

She died in 1898 and is a tangible part of the Town’s history that this charity commemorates.
Once again aiming to satisfy the needs of the Town’s People.

Purposes

To provide grants for organisations or projects that improve the life of Haslemere residents
