OUR HISTORY
Why “Penny Ha’Penny”?
The last water carrier at the Haslemere Town well called Hannah Oakford used to charge a “Penny Ha’Penny” for a bucket of water.
She died in 1898 and is a tangible part of the Town’s history that this charity commemorates. Once again aiming to satisfy the needs of the Town’s People.
